Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel location-aided carrier frequency offset (CFO) estimation technique in multiuser Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system for uplink mode. In this contribution, we combine the Best Linear Unbiased Estimator (BLUE) proposed by Morelli et al. with the location aided approach and appropriate designed sequences for CFO estimation in the uplink multi-user asynchronous transmission. We show that by having a sufficiently accurate knowledge of the time-delay, calculated through the location information, CFO estimation performance close to that of the delay-free scenario could be achieved. Moreover, it is shown that, if the knowledge of location-information is not sufficiently accurate, the proposed CFO estimation approach still offers a comparable performance to that of delay-free scenario.
