Abstract
A new approach in studies of the line asymmetry has been undertaken in the commonly used wavelength standard resulting in precise measurement of the shifts arising from molecular collisions and from the iodine resonance asymmetry. The i-component unperturbed molecular transition frequency has been found to be 473 612 214 858.8/spl plusmn/12.7 kHz.
