Abstract :
This paper presents a complete and exhaustive mathematical model of the synchronous reluctance machine considering all saturation and cross-coupling effects. The parameters for this model have been determined experimentally and its validity was confirmed by laboratory measurements. For the implementation of sensorless control schemes of the synchronous reluctance machine the decoupling of the equations according to the model is necessary. Nevertheless, the model with extensive parameter fields is too complex. Therefore, simpler models are derived from the complete one and their limits of application are shown in the paper.
