Abstract :
The advantages of using the high-harmonic technique for laser frequency stabilization to narrow nonlinear resonances are discussed. Assuming the profile of a nonlinear resonance to be symmetric and the frequency modulation to be harmonic, the effects of the laser tuning curve and of neighboring lines on frequency offsets are estimated.
