Abstract :
A wireless local area network (WLAN) encounters a severe performance degradation due to frequency selective multipath fading when increasing the access bit rate. This paper proposes a simple solution for increasing an access bit rate in WLAN by using PSK-RZ (PSK-return to zero) and active fading, an artificial frequency selective fading. A computer simulation result based on the simulated indoor multipath delay profile assuming ray-theoretical waves shows the possibility of achieving an access bit rate of more than 10 Mb/s
