Abstract :
Rapidly variable phase-control circuit of capacitor currents was accomplished. Phase controlling of capacitor currents makes it easy for the capacitor to be connected to the AC source and disconnected from it without spike currents, moreover, causes no residual potential at the disconnected capacitor. Therefore, this circuit is useful as a switch of capacitor currents and is expected to be used as a variable reactive power compensator. This paper reports the switching characteristics of capacitor currents by the actual measurements in case of driving the circuit sequentially by programmable relay which includes analog comparator in its input terminals
