Abstract :
An algorithm for constructing some solutions to the wave equation for arbitrary temporal dependence of the velocities of the source-pulse front and back are given. Two specific solutions of the initial-value problem of wave formation for sub- and superluminal hyperbolic motion of the source are obtained and discussed
