Abstract
We present a new approach to efficient space division multiple access in wireless packet data networks. An initially wide-angle beam is split successively until a set of initially colliding packet transmitters are spatially isolated into individual narrow beams. We present an analysis of the throughput and delay performance and also discuss practical implementation issues.
