Abstract :
The base-to-mobile link in a cellular CDMA mobile radio system, in the presence of Rayleigh fading, is considered, and an analytical approach is developed which enables to find the optimal form of the power control law and to evaluate its performance in terms of the system utilization, i.e., the ratio of the number of admitted users to the spreading factor per information bit. The average probability of error of the system is also presented
