Abstract
Criteria for the design of harmonic filters to be inserted in low voltage electrical plants supplying static power converters, i.e., located in harmonic-polluted environments, are discussed. Particular attention is paid to the choice of the filter-inductor quality factor. The authors point out significant limits for the value of the quality factor which comply with the requirement of filter effectiveness in series resonance, limited harmonic amplification in parallel resonance and in the presence of supply-injected harmonic voltages
