Abstract :
In this paper, we consider the throughput performance of secondary networks in Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) networks. We present analytical models to quantify the impact of both primary network settings and secondary network settings on the performance of a secondary network. The correlation between primary and secondary networks is captured by the incorporation of spectrum sensing and interference avoidance mechanism in the mathematical model. The resulting models are of both theoretical and practical interest. Numerical evaluation of the proposed models validates the ideology of DSA networks and reveals fundamental insights on the design of secondary networks.
