Abstract :
We derive the CRIMNO algorithm for a fractionally-spaced equalizer and show that the fractionally-spaced CRIMNO algorithm converges significantly faster than the synchronous CRIMNO algorithm. The main reason is that a fractionally-spaced blind equalizer admits infinitely many realizations of perfect equalization for a specific delay while a synchronous equalizer admits only one realization. Some properties about the fractionally-spaced realizations of perfect equalization are also given
