Abstract :
The authors compare numerical and knowledge methods through the analysis and evaluation of an expert´s knowledge in solving a network restoration problem. Analysis and evaluation are performed in a way that compares the solutions to network restoration problems given by numerical and knowledge methods. It is shown that knowledge methods can lead to an optimal solution efficiently in almost all cases and are effective in obtaining a feasible solution for complex problems. To take further advantage of the knowledge, it is proposed that the knowledge method is integrated with the numerical one as its pre- or post-processing.<>
