  • Abstract
There have been controversial ideas about whether it is possible to implement intelligent machines and how to do that. People differentiate between three major approaches: the symbolic intelligence, the computational intelligence and the behavioral intelligence. The fourth approach, knowledge based intelligence, has a tight relation, but not equal, to the first one. Since more than 20 years ago, we have started our research on knowledge based intelligence and have taken automatic knowledge acquisition and automatic application sohare prototyping as a test stone. This talk will show our practice done and experiences obtained in this area. In order to let computer acquire knowledge automatically, we have developed a technique of pseudo-natural language understanding. Based on this technique, knowledge can be acquired, sorted, analyzed, merged and organized automatically. It makes the automatic generation of application sofiware possible. We have applied this technique in automatic generation of expert systems, ICAI systems, management information systems and computer animations.
