Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the performance of direct data domain least squares (D3LS) approach for beamforming. The beamforming techniques can be utilized in Wireless Sensor Networks to improve the performance of the estimation as it was done in Radars and Wireless Communications systems over the years successfully. D3LS approach requires the inversion of an ill-conditioned matrix to find the optimal array element complex weights and the performance of the beamformer will be dependent on the accuracy of these operations. Different matrix inversion approaches have been considered for D3LS. The numerical simulations are provided to show the efficacy of these methods.
