  • Abstract
MDA, SELEX Galileo and DRDC-O recently collaborated on a Canadian DND Defence Industrial Research Program to investigate the potential benefits of an Active Electronically Scanned Array architecture for use in air-to-ground radar modes. The firmware and software for a production PicoSAR AESA radar was modified to simultaneously collect scanning and staring GMTI submodes, each with two channel data. Post-processing and analysis of the collected data indicated very good detection and location accuracy performance against the deployed instrumented GMTI and DMTI targets.
