  • Abstract
    The Multi-Channel Coherent Radar Depth Sounder (MCoRDS) system was developed by the Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) in 2009 for measuring the thickness of ice sheets in polar regions. This radar system was first used on-board the NASA DC-8 aircraft as one of the primary sensors for Operation Ice Bridge (OIB). The radar is a highly sensitive system operated in an environment of unknown electromagnetic interference (EMI) conditions. Therefore, various precautions were taken to mitigate the effects of E MI to ensure successful radar measurements and sufficient electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). This paper provides an overview of M CoRDS focusing on its E M C and performance.
