            Abstract : 
Two-dimensional run length limited codes satisfying the square constraint are considered. Let S denote a square of area A(S) and let αn be a positive sequence satisfying limn→∞αn=∞. It is shown that the capacity Cn corresponding to the set Sn=αnS∩Z2 asymptotically satisfies limn→∞Cn[αn 2/log2αn2]=4/A(S)
