Abstract
The paper proposes a model to evaluate information system (IS) alignment with business goals and internal organizational environment. The model has been applied to study Indian automobile industry. The study reveals level of alignment between various functional areas with respect to common understanding of business goals. Some possible areas to improve upon IS alignment are highlighted.
