Abstract :
The effects of ceramic dielectric material pellet shapes on the gas discharge characteristics of Ferroelectric Packed Bed Reactors (FEPBR) are experimentally investigated. Dielectric materials used are Barium Titanes with dielectric constant εs=10,000 and Curie points at 37°C. Experiments are conducted for the applied ac voltage from 0 to 16 kV, and the gas flowrate from 0 to 10 l/min. in a parallel plate packed bed reactor. The shape of the pellets used are spherical, short cylinder and two different sized hollow cylinders. The results show a significant pellet geometry effect on both the gas discharge and pressure characteristics
