Abstract :
In a WCDMA system, as the rapid growth of the system users, the Quality of Service (QoS) becomes a serious problem because each active user introduces interferences to the other users. To ease the QoS problem, Call Admission Control (CAC) scheme is widely adopted to control the utilization and distribution of system resource. In this paper, we compare the two commonly used Power-Based CAC and Throughput-Based CAC in the WCDMA uplink. Results show that both CACs have almost the same Grade of Service (GoS) performance for different type of services and wireless channels.
