Abstract :
Engineers are distinct from other occupations and therefore require specific techniques for proper motivation. This paper presents several motivational techniques specifically focused on motivating engineering professionals. Additionally, several common demotivating practices are described so companies and managers can avoid them. While there are no universal rules that will apply to every individual, this paper will provide some general guidelines that managers can use as a motivational toolbox.
