Abstract :
A compensation scheme consists of many complex factors based on organizational characteristics. Specifically, in public research technology organization (RTO), the values, expectations and attitude of research scientists and engineers are in many aspects different from those other professionals. A measure of career orientation enables an organization to find match between organizational and individual needs and to restructure jobs accordingly. This study represents relationship between career orientation of Research and Development (R&D) personnel in RTO and their compensation preferences. Accordingly, the statistical results suggest that different career orientations of R&D personnel at Thailand National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) prefer different compensation schemes.
