Abstract :
A current-fed series resonant DC/DC converter is analyzed using a normalized third-order model. This model overcomes limitations of reduced second-order descriptions which do not include the effects of the output filter in the response of the circuit. The normalization procedure used simplifies the description of the converter as a function of basic parameters of the circuit, such as the switching-to-resonant frequency ratio and the normalized load parameter Q. A symbolic solution for the equations describing the converter is obtained and used to derive both large and small-signal sampled-data models. Sensitivities of the sampled state variables with respect to relative variations in the input current, switching-to-resonant frequency ratio, and Q are also obtained.<>
