Abstract :
In order to utilize a color 2D barcode as a true pervasive computing tool, it is ideal to increase the number of color symbols to encode data. We have developed a novel color 2D barcode called Mobile Multi-Colour Composit, which enables robust encoding and decoding up to 10 colors; more colors than used for any existing color 2D barcodes for mobile devices. In this paper, the performance of the MMCC barcode system was evaluated by implementing it on a camera phone. The results demonstrate the feasibility of the MMCC barcode system for pervasive computing.
