Abstract :
This paper uses a knowledge-creating perspective to shed light on the road mapping technique as a new management tool to tackle challenges faced by forecasting and planning with growing complexity of processes and products as well as ever-changing customer preferences. The knowledge conversions and spiral models in knowledge-creating theory, as an alternative perspective, emphasize the values of creating new knowledge from interactive process. A road mapping process linking all the important points from discoveries to marketing makes sense in adding more value as part of knowledge management, combining with its other functions of communication and persuasion, in turn, strengthening the importance of quality roadmap as an organic integration of technology development and business opportunity.
