Abstract :
Results are presented on the transmission through a Batcher-Banyan ATM switch of video images together with other traffic. At first a mathematical model of video sequences is used to derive some fundamental parameters such as throughput, delay and loss probability. A protocol capable to reduce the impact of cell losses in the reconstruction of the received images is then introduced. Its effectiveness is shown transmitting real images through the switch and reconstructing them at the output
