Abstract :
The concept of Participative Leadership is developed in this article, as an extension of the concept of Participative Management. Leadership activities and responsibilities are shared with the empowered team members, rather than remaining with the manager with input from the team members. Most central to team success is the formulation of the team. Thus, in the ideal Participate Leadership, the team constitutes itself. The case study describes the development of the process, its implementation and the results. Impact of the change of how the team is constituted is evaluated. The impact on acceptance and inclusion as motivational capital is also evaluated. Finally, some practical suggestions are offered as to how to apply this approach in day-to-day leadership activities.
