Abstract :
Distributed resources are often described as providing improved reliability over the conventional utility distribution system. While there are some obvious cases where this is true, most utility engineers would argue that this is not the case, particularly with respect to the utility distribution system. The presentation examines the issue of reliability with respect to distributed resources interconnected with the utility distribution system.
