Abstract :
Side information is important for Wyner-Ziv video coding, not only for improving the reconstructed frame quality but also for decreasing the encoding rate. This paper proposes a novel side information refining method, which firstly generates side information in spatial domain, and then uses the motion vectors produced in spatial domain as the initial ones to refine side information in overcomplete DWT (ODWT) domain using different motion search strategies. The proposed method can effectively improve side information quality and rate-distortion performance, which are also verified by some simulations.
