Abstract :
Arabidopsis Thaliana is a vegetal composite mainly constituted of cellulose and lignin. Geneticists consider Arabidopsis as a model because of its rapid growth and its complete known genome. The decrease of lignin content or the modification of lignin chemistry eases cellulose extraction. Geneticists by gene mutation play on cell wall composition. For example the down-regulation of CAD C/D genes involves a reduction of predominant units of lignin and incorporates aldehydes. In consequence lignin network is more fragmented and enriched in hydroxyl groups. The biochemical analysis is not able to make a difference at the molecular level between modified plant (CAD C/D) and non modified one. Thermo Stimulated Currents (TSC) is a promising route to identify gene mutation in Arabidopsis Thaliana.
