Abstract :
PDLC films of ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) and nematic 6CB show a change in transmittance under external electric fields. In poled films, the effect depends on the polarity of the applied voltage in contrast to non-poled films. It is concluded that the LC is pre-oriented by the poled P(VDF-TrFE) matrix.
