Abstract
This paper presents the principal requirements of multimedia applications at end-systems and provides a simplified means for specifying these requirements. The specifications allow a suitable support by the underlying system by offering a clear way for mapping and managing QoS needs for multimedia applications. A model for achieving these aims has been developed. The model is based on the definition of minimal interactions with system resources and the applications
