Abstract :
An evanescent transient current in step-voltage measurements carried out with α-PVDF samples has been detected. This effect is strongly dependent on the moisture of the environment. Experimental results have indicated that this transient current is generated by the ionic dissociation of the absorbed water molecules by the bulk of the sample
