Abstract
In this paper, electret effects are readily observed in biopolymers, an observation that becomes evident from a close look at a simple tutorial electret beads-on-a-string model. There is still debate on the physiological importance of electret effects, though there are claims on the electret modulation of bone formation and resorption. In biomedical sensing and in “electronic skin” for soft robots electrets may find new application areas.
