Abstract
A high resolution technique is proposed, using a sensor array with arbitrary nonlinear geometry, to handle the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation problem involving unknown narrowband and broadband sources. The technique basically uses the fundamental properties of the eigenvectors from the signal subspace to form an optimization problem with broadband response derivative constraints imposed, so as to achieve the broadband weight vector for the DOA estimator. Simulation results are presented to show the performance of the proposed technique
