Abstract
Accumulation of space charges in various solid dielectrics differing considerably by structure and physical properties as a result of irradiation by protons, deuterons, 32He ions, and α-particles with 0.5 to 10 MeV per nucleon energy range and beam currents 10-9-5×10-8 A/cm2 has been investigated. The total current density in a dielectric slab has been measured during and after irradiation. In a number of dielectrics the space charge distribution has been probed by radiation beam and acoustic pulse methods. Experimental investigations have shown that space charge distributions in various materials become similar once charged particle ranges exceed ~5 μm
