Abstract :
The extent of computerization in the human resource management function in organizations is typically limited to traditional database management systems that do not take advantage of advances in computer technology in the ´90s. This is true even in large organizations that deploy sophisticated computer systems in line functions. In this paper, we provide an analysis of the technology gap in human resource management, and propose a multi-layered decision support system framework for closing this gap. A process reengineering agenda is also proposed to support the deployment of such advanced computer systems in human resource management
