Abstract

In Brazil, the resolution ndeg 303/2002 of the National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) adhered and approved the guidelines for limiting exposure to time-varying electric, magnetic, and electromagnetic fields (up to 300 GHz) of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). Based in this guiding principle, a campaign of measurements was carried out in residential environments near the four TV stations in urban area of Belem (Para) city. The objective was to evaluate the levels of nonionizing radiation that the populations who inhabit in the adjacencies are submitted. The results obtained suggest a reformulation, by the regulating Agent, on the procedures for powers radiated levels project from new TV stations.
