Abstract :
With the introduction of new frequency bands and scenarios, the coexistence issue between an aggressor LTE-A system and a legacy system, operating in the same geographical area in adjacent channels, is becoming essential in RAN4 as a premise to enable the following standardization of LTE-A. In this paper, the typical coexistence scenarios with LTE-A system interference environment are investigated with details, including two layer cell layouts system scenario, power control schemes, desensitization of the receiver due to Adjacent Channel Interference (ACI), and inter-system interference (ISI) calculation. Furthermore, the possible approach of adopting CC-specific (Component Carrier) power control scheme or implementation mechanism involving carrier aggregation (CA) deployment scenario is also discussed in the coexisting cases of LTE-A system. From the comparison and analysis of the simulation results, it is found that the performance loss could be restrained to a tolerable level in the combined system.
