  • Abstract
We calculated the plasma radiation of 1.5 MA wire array implosion and found that plasma radiation yield should be sufficient for the 1-2 cm/sup -1/ gain in the pumped plasma. In this case a pumped plasma arranges on 1-2 cm distance from pumping one. Preliminary experiments were performed with the help of Gi -4 inductive storage machine. The comparative study of experimental and calculating results shown that pumping line yield is sufficient for inverse density creation ( 10/sup 9/ Wt from one centimeter of liner). The Al-Mg photopump soft X-ray laser scheme is one of the possible ways to get the coherent radiation [1]. In such a scheme the AIXI/sup 2/S /sub 1/2/-/sup 2/P/sub 1/2/ line (/spl lambda/ = 48.338 /spl Aring/) radiation pumps 4p levels in MgIX (/spl lambda/ =48.34 /spl Aring/). We have analysed the realisation of this scheme with the help of Mg target evaporation by the Al liner Z-pinch radiation [2]. Our simulation showed the 1cm /sup -1/ gain of Mg plasma can be obtained by the 10 /sup 9/ Wt/cm pump line radiation and 10 /sup 11/ Wt/cm total Z-pinch radiation. The distance between the target and Z-pinch is 1 cm approximately. In this study we planned to demonstrate the possibility of receiving the request radiation at the 1,2-1,5 MA modest current.
