Abstract :
In this work is presented a DC-DC flyback converter to feed a 6W Class A power amplifier for guitars using vacuum tubes as amplifying device. There are implemented two identical class A amplifiers, one of them is powered by a linear power supply and the other is powered by the DC-DC flyback converter. It was possible to conduct a performance comparison from input and output signals, efficiencies and the most important waveforms taken from the experimentation of the two power amplifiers. It is proved that a Vacuum Tube Class A power amplifier could be fed by Switched Mode Power Supply without prejudice noise.
