Abstract :
This paper addresses system engineering and mission planning issues for a disposable remote chemical sensor network. Engineering considerations include orbital analysis, telemetry, satellite transponder access, modulation techniques, power for remotes, a frequency plan, antennae selection, and verification that performance is feasible and acceptable via link budgets
