Abstract :
Object tracking and the quality of service (QOS) control is one of key issues in sensor networks. In order to track objects and provide information about the location, trajectory and identity for each object, we propose a new object tracking scheme using both infrared sensors and video cameras, where infrared sensors are used to detect and locate moving objects, while video cameras are for tracking, producing trajectories and if possible, providing identity and details. Object searching is done using a three level wavelet representation. It significantly reduces the searching space. Hierarchical wavelet representation also facilitates QoS control in the sensor network environment. Dropped high frequency components can be recovered in the receiver side by using wavelet fractal interpolation. The experimental result shows the effectiveness of our algorithm
