Abstract :
Outcome based education (OBE) is a prerequisite for every professional programme that enables the stakeholder (student) to perform at globally competitive environment. India being a permanent member of Washington Accord, the professional institutions have started practicing towards OBE. The paper presents a novel approach for the assessment of PO´s. This novel approach is useful in the assessment of a particular programme and the performance of the students during the programme. The paper also discusses the typical tools employed for the assessment and evaluation of Programme Outcomes (PO´s) based on the weightage factor (mapping) between different tools and PO´s.
