Abstract :
Mattisse is a traffic and travel information system, developed initially as part of the QUARTET+ fourth framework project, to create an integrated transport environment system, covering a geographic area of 3500 sq. Kms. and a population of 3.5 millions. Traffic data is automatically collected from a range of existing traffic and travel systems at regional Urban Traffic Control Centres (UTCC). These include urban traffic control, car park monitoring, equipment fault monitoring, and train passenger information systems. The information is distributed to UTCC´s and other parties including the WWW Server via the central integrated road transport co-ordination system and is displayed in graphical format on user terminals in each regional UTCC. The information provided to the Internet is a subset of the information held on the ITECS and resembles the actual UT screens.
