Abstract :
Three dimensional computer animations is an important method for traffic simulation with the development of computer graphics. In this paper, we construct 3D virtual pedestrians who have internal sensor and perception for external stimulus. In a 3D traffic virtual environment, a virtual pedestrian owns behaviors and actions, and these construct the main content of behavior animation model for virtual pedestrian. First, the concept of stimulus origin and sensor for virtual pedestrian are presented. If the strength of a stimulus is bigger than capacity of a sensor, then the sensor is active and senses the stimulus. Second, the concept of behavior set and action set are proposed. Behavior transition can be expressed as a finite state machine. At last, a 3D demo of virtual pedestrian is realized on personal computer.
