Abstract
The charge carrier photogeneration in poly(N-vinylcarbazole) was investigated as a function of the electric field and the temperature for 254 and 355 nm irradiation by the method of photoinduced discharge current. A novel photogeneration model has been proposed which includes energy trapping in excimer-forming sites. The most probable separation distances of electron-hole bound pairs were determined as 0.6 and 0.8 nm for the 355 and 254 nm irradiation, respectively
