Abstract :
In this paper an Adaptive Time Domain Scheduling Algorithm (ATDSA) is proposed for Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) downlink (DL) transmission. This algorithm uses the Hebbian learning process to allocate radio resource adaptively to different types of traffic. The aim is to improve QoS provision for different traffic types while maintaining a reasonable tradeoff between system throughput and user fairness. The proposed ATDSA is implemented and validated in a dynamic packet scheduling framework via a system level simulation. Results show that ATDSA reduces the average delay, delay viability and packet drop rate (PDR) of real time traffic; guarantees the minimum throughput of non real time traffic while balancing the tradeoff between system throughput and user fairness.
