Abstract :
This paper describes an electrothermal accelerator, which has no external high-current switch in the electric circuit. Instead, the plasma burner itself is used for switching. The electric discharge is initiated by a pyrotechnic ignition. The discharge vessel has a pre stressed ceramic insulation.
